Who runs this site
B2B Marketing Group, LLC runs michaelfertman.com. For any question about this policy or your information, email mfertman [at] theb2bmg [dot] com.
What the site collects
When you send the contact form
The form collects your first and last name, work email, company, the topic you choose and your message. The site sends them to HubSpot, which B2B Marketing Group uses to receive and answer messages.
When analytics run
Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics record the pages you visit, how you reached the site, your browser and device type, and your approximate location. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser so it can recognize a return visit. Ahrefs says its analytics uses no cookies and does not store IP addresses.
If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the site shows a cookie banner, and neither tool runs unless you click Accept. If you visit from anywhere else, both tools run when the page loads, unless your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Wherever you are, you can turn them off at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
When you make a cookie choice
The site saves your choice in your browser, so the banner does not appear again. It also adds one line to a consent log, with a random ID, your choice, the date and time, and the version of this policy. The log holds no name, email or IP address.
When you visit any page
Vercel hosts the site and handles technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. Vercel also works out which country your connection comes from, so the site knows whether to show the cookie banner. The site does not keep a record of your country.
How the information is used
Form details are used only to reply to you and to follow up on the conversation you start. Analytics show which pages visitors find useful, in combined reports. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.
Legal basis
Replying to the form rests on your request and on B2B Marketing Group's legitimate interest in answering it. For visitors from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics rest on your consent. For other visitors, they rest on the legitimate interest in understanding which pages visitors find useful, and you can turn them off at any time. The consent log exists to show that consent was given, which the law requires. Hosting rests on the legitimate interest in running a working, secure site.
Who else handles it
HubSpot receives form messages. Google and Ahrefs receive analytics data only when analytics run, as described above. Google holds the consent log in a Google Sheet. Vercel hosts the site. Some of these providers handle data outside the European Union, under the transfer safeguards in their own terms.
How long it is kept
Form messages are kept while the conversation and any work that follows are active, and are deleted on request. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in each analytics account. The consent log is kept as a record of each choice.
Your choices and rights
You can change your analytics choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your information, object to its use, or withdraw your consent by emailing mfertman [at] theb2bmg [dot] com. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
